ABOUT THE BOOKS:
Overview
This is a review of TWO different cookbooks both are by Anjum Anand.
1) Anjums Quick and Easy Indian (Fast, effortless food for any time and place)
2) Anjums Indian Vegetarian Feast
As I looked through both books I felt that they were practically laid out into handy categories and photographed nicely. Flipping through the pages inspired me to think a bit more about my style of cooking. Even though we do eat meat 1 - 2 times a week most of our diet is filled with vegetables and salads so its always nice to get fresh inspiration to cook in different styles. Especially as Indian food has such beautiful spices and can be so fragrant.
I may have been hungry while writing this blog post and while looking through these cook books - hence I planned to make a million different dishes for supper this evening - not very practical but I think it will be delicious non the less.
Recipes to watch out for
In Anjums Quick and Easy Indian I'd say defintely the Spiced Roast Leg of Lamb - it sounds and looks delicious! and the Goan-Style Roast Pork Belly (I think I may be hungry while writing this.)
In Anjums Indian Vegetarian Feast the Melon and Ginger sharbat drink looks beautiful and sounds like a great flavour combination. Also the Best Ever Frilled Naan sounds amazing! (I'll be trying those with gluten-free flour for sure.)
